Katsina State Allocates N7.8 Billion to Enhance Security and Combat Banditry

Katsina State has taken a significant step towards addressing the pressing issue of insecurity within its borders. The state’s Executive Council has approved a budget of N7.8 billion to procure modern equipment for the security agencies operating within the region.

During a press briefing following the State Executive Council meeting, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, shared the details of the allocation. Out of the N7.8 billion budget, N4.8 billion will be utilized to purchase security vehicles for patrol operations. An additional N2.6 billion has been earmarked for acquiring state-of-the-art security equipment. The remaining N353.3 million will be allocated for the purchase of various other security gadgets.

Furthermore, the State Executive Council has also approved an additional N320 million for the procurement of security equipment for the newly established Community Security Watch Corps. This allocation is in addition to the previously approved N640 million during a previous council meeting.
