Oyo State Government Approves Car Loan Scheme for Primary School Teachers

The Oyo State Government has recently given its approval for the immediate release of a car loan scheme tailored for primary school teachers across all zones in the state. This development was confirmed in a statement issued by Jacob Dairo, the Coordinating Director of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, on Friday in Ibadan.

The introduction of this car loan scheme serves as a palliative measure aimed at alleviating the economic challenges faced by the teachers. Dairo emphasized that the loan would be disbursed in multiple tranches to help cushion the effects of the ongoing national economic crisis.

The approval for the loan scheme was granted by Governor Seyi Makinde, who reassured that there would be no discrimination in the selection process. He instructed that all eligible teachers should benefit from this initiative.

Dairo advised the beneficiaries to utilize the loan solely for the intended purpose. The financial institutions responsible for granting the loan have set a redemption period of 40 months.

In related news, Professor Salihu Abdulwaheed, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology in Oyo State, has expressed his willingness to collaborate with all stakeholders in the education sector. He made this pledge during a visit to the Directorate of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board on Thursday.

Abdulwaheed further stated that the state government is actively planning to recruit additional teachers for the basic education sub-sector. He emphasized that comprehensive training for staff members will be prioritized to ensure overall success in the education sector.

These recent developments demonstrate the Oyo State Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and enhancing the quality of education in the state.
