Peter Obi’s Presence at Senator Barau’s Son’s Wedding Exemplifies Unity in Nigeria, Says Akpabio

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, hailed the attendance of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, at the wedding Fatiha of Amir, the son of Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, as a powerful symbol of a unified Nigeria.

Speaking in Kano on Friday after the event, Mr. Akpabio emphasized that the presence of numerous high-profile individuals at the wedding ceremony attests to Mr. Jibrin’s reputation as a peace-loving statesman.

“Even the presence of Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and his entourage, sends a strong message that Nigeria will remain united as one entity,” stated Mr. Akpabio.

The wedding Fatiha, graced by Vice President Kashim Shettima, united Amir with Bilkisu Madaki, the daughter of Aliyu Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.

The event, held at the Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque in Goron Dutse, Kano State, attracted dignitaries from various spheres of society.
