Why Tinubu Entrusted Me with the Ministry of Solid Minerals, reveals Dele Alake

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, has shed light on the rationale behind President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint him to the critical ministry.

Alake clarified that Tinubu opted to assign him to the ministry due to its pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic rejuvenation.

Speaking to journalists during his inauguration, which took place alongside 45 new ministers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Alake revealed that he specifically requested the ministry despite public opinion.

“I became aware of this matter when I assumed the position of Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy at the beginning of this administration,” Alake shared.

“Given the current economic renewal happening in the country, the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development holds significant importance. Therefore, I personally requested Mr. President to entrust me with this role, and he graciously agreed. The ministry’s significance to the administration influenced the president’s decision to appoint someone he had complete faith in to ensure effective delivery.”
