NUEE Strongly Condemns Assault on Osun NLC Chairperson

In a recent statement, the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has expressed its condemnation of the altercation that took place during the State Executive Council meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Osun State Council. This condemnation extends to the attack on the Caretaker Chairperson of the NLC, Osun State, Modupe Oyedele.

Sadiq Adewale, the Vice President (West) of NUEE, stressed that such actions are in direct violation of the principles upheld by the union. Adewale also described the incident as a disgraceful and uncivilized act, not only for NUEE but for the entire labour movement.

Adewale emphasized that there are proper channels for expressing dissatisfaction and resolving grievances, and urged labour leaders in Osun to employ these methods to address all outstanding issues. He called for a truce among the aggrieved members and stated that the union would ensure that the Osun State Council of NLC and all labour leaders in the state comply with its directives.
