The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Mussawa has debunked a statement on her National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, status as a serving minister, falsely credited to her in news circulating in a section of the media.

On Sunday, some media outlets had published a purported statement saying “she is currently a Corps member while serving as a Nigerian minister.”

However, in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, the Minister clarified that she had not released any official statement with regards to the aforementioned matter and asked the public to be cautious of unverified information.

“I deeply value and appreciate the support, solidarity, and understanding of Nigerians in these times,” the Minister noted.

She said; “For clarity, I wish to state that I have not issued any statement on the current issue.”
