Six Arrested for Forgery: EFCC Cracks Down on Fraudulent Scheme

By Salihu Ali, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, has recently apprehended six individuals for their involvement in an elaborate forgery scheme. These suspects allegedly exploited forged letterheads from the Offices of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to deceive and extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.

According to Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson for the agency, the suspects collaborated to produce fabricated employment and recommendation letters, charging unsuspecting individuals a fee for their fraudulent services. The EFCC’s swift and decisive action has thwarted this criminal operation.

Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the arrested individuals will face charges in court, ensuring that justice is served and the victims are given the opportunity to seek restitution.
