Minister of Works Embarks on Southwestern Road Inspection Tour

The Honourable Minister of Works, David Umahi, has commenced an extensive inspection tour of the roads in the southwestern region of Nigeria, starting with Lagos State.

This forms a crucial part of the Minister’s comprehensive plan to assess and evaluate the state of highways across the country.

During his visit, the Minister made a stop at Victoria Island’s outer Marina Road, which was constructed using funds procured under the Federal Government’s SUKUK financing scheme.

He then proceeded to the recently rehabilitated Eko Bridge, where he was provided with a detailed briefing by officials from the ministries and contractors responsible for the project’s execution.

The inspection tour will also cover significant federal government projects in the Lagos-Ogun corridor, including the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway, the restored Apapa-Oshodi Motorway, Deep Sea Ports, and more.
