President Tinubu Will Protect, Empower Nigerian Women- Minister 

Nigeria’s Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has assured women that the President Tinubu-led administration is ready to protect and empower every woman in Nigeria.

Ohanenye disclosed this during her recent visit to the office of the Anambra state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, in Awka, the state capital, Southeast Nigeria.

Speaking to women during her visit, the minister urged Anambra women to utilize the opportunity of having an Igbo Minister by forming corporations in clusters of at least 20 members to partake in the coming projects.

The minister emphasized that she will do her best in linking International Communities to Anambra state to see that the mandate of Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is actualized.

Barrister Ohanenye further asserted that she is currently working with some Non Governmental Organisations NGOs, and Agencies to see that women are empowered economically for the smooth running of the home and the society at large.

She also stated that her main expectation is to see women loving themselves and not being their problems.

Earlier, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Honourable Ify Obinabo had welcomed the Honourable Minister to the state at the Anambra International Airport Umueri and proceeded to the Party house where they further visited some markets, before coming to Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka to address the women.

The commissioner appreciated the minister for encouraging Anambra women and promised to support her reign.

Present at the event were the Anambra State Head of Service, BarristerTheodora Igwegbe, member representing Anaocha Constituency one, in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Nkechi Ogbuefi, APGA State Woman Leader, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, ASATU women, among others.
