Tribunal sacks Sen. Bali, returns Simon Lalong as winner of Plateau Senatorial poll

The Plateau State and National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of Senator Napoleon Bali of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and declared Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Bako Lalong of the All Progressives Congress APC, as the winner of the Plateau South Senatorial District.

The tribunal, in a unanimous judgment led by Justice Muhammad Tukur, said the PDP, having no structure, lacked the right to have taken part in the election.
