The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to working together with vigilante groups in the battle against insecurity and lawlessness within the state.

Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria Zamfara State Chapter at the NSCDC Gusau State Command, State Commandant Sani Mustapha emphasized the importance of the vigilante groups’ contribution to the state’s security architecture. The NSCDC is therefore ready to provide the necessary support and collaboration.

Mustapha stressed that the NSCDC will make use of any valuable intelligence provided by the vigilante group, urging them to cooperate with other security agencies at the grassroots level to eradicate all forms of insecurity in the state.

The State Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Rabiu Bawa Maru, also expressed the group’s need for support from the NSCDC to effectively carry out their duties in the rural areas of the state.
