Katsina govt to award foreign scholarships to 40 indigenes

The Katsina State Government says it’s planning to award foreign scholarships to 40 indigenes of the state to examine medication at a recognised college in Egypt.

Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed, the state’s Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, revealed this to newsmen in Katsina.

According to him, the choice to award the foreign scholarships was reached at their fifth common Executive Council assembly, chaired by Governor Dikko Radda.

Mr Ahmed stated every of the 31 native governments within the state would produce one candidate to benefit from the gesture, whereas Daura and Funtua will produce two individuals every.

“Our dear capital, Katsina, will, however, nominate three persons. All processes to identify qualified candidates would be completed within a month,” he stated.

The Commissioner additional defined that solely candidates who graduated from Katsina public faculties can be thought-about.

“The scholarship programme is aimed at providing more qualified doctors that will later be deployed to various health institutions across the state,” stated Mr Ahmed.
