Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace, rescued a 47-year-old woman, Mrs Paulina Alfred, on Tuesday after her abductors abandoned her during a sustained military operation in Plateau State. The victim had been kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area, prompting distress calls from the community that triggered the rescue mission.
Counter-insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama, citing military sources, reported that troops launched a search operation at approximately 7:00 a.m. and tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area in Bassa Local Government Area. As the troops intensified their pursuit, the abductors came under significant pressure and fled into the surrounding terrain, leaving the victim behind.
Mrs Alfred was recovered unharmed by the advancing troops. Following standard procedure, she was debriefed by security personnel before being reunited with her family.
The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of rapid response mechanisms driven by community intelligence. Security analysts note that the coordination between local residents and military units in the Jos-Bassa axis continues to disrupt kidnapping networks operating in the region.
