NNPCL clears air on alleged plan to increase petrol pump prices

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited has reacted to speculations that it’s nursing a plan to increase its pump prices.

Reports earlier emerged that the touchdown value of the Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, jumped from N651/litre to N720/litre.

This fueled speculations that the pump value of the petroleum product could skyrocket within the subsequent few days.

However, reacting to the report, the corporate’s administration, in a press release shared Friday on X, denied the report, saying there was no intention for any increment.

The assertion reads, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.

“Please buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”.
