Army Commander Flags Off Exercise Still Waters III

The Commander, 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General KE Chigbu has flagged off Exercise STILL WATERS III in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State to address security challenges during festive period.

The flagging off of the exercise which is in line with the directives of the Army was proceeded by a press briefing to keep the public abreast of the commencement of the exercise.

Brigadier General Chigbu stated that the exercise is designed to equip the security personnel in the state with the rudiments of joint operations to strengthen the existing synergy between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the conduct of internal security operations in a riverine environment.

He further said that the exercise would specifically target criminal elements and threats relating to insurgency, militancy, cultism, kidnapping, and illegal oil bunkering among other forms of criminality through the yuletide season in support of the State and the country at large.

Brigadier General chigbu also noted that the exercise would begin with training exercises, dovetailing into real-time intelligence-led operations against criminal elements across the state.

The Flagg off exercise which was hitch-free had in attendance the Chief of Staff, Headquarters 2 Brigade, Col M Uba, Commander, 2 Brigade Garrison, Lt Col U Adamu, Commanding Officers, staff officers of the Brigade, senior officers and sister security agencies.
