The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, addressed a large crowd of supporters at the APC’s presidential campaign rally held at the Mallam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, on Saturday. During his speech, Tinubu urged the people of Jigawa not to allow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to regain power, emphasizing the importance of maintaining faith in the APC-led government for effective service delivery.

Tinubu highlighted the significance of the 2015 election, where the PDP was voted out, referring to them as “jackals and hyenas.” He expressed that it would be unthinkable to allow the party a pathway back to power at the federal level. In a statement released by the Tinubu Media Office and signed by Tunde Rahman, he remarked, “You did the courageous job of chasing away the locusts eight years ago. Do not trust their deceptive promises. Do not let them back into power. Like locusts, they will devour everything in their path.” He urged voters to support candidates with a proven track record of delivering prosperity, citing successes in Lagos and Borno states as examples.

Regarding his plans for Jigawa State, Tinubu emphasized the potential of its vast arable land, stating that it could become a significant hub for agro-business and agro-allied industries. He pledged to build upon the agricultural gains already achieved in the state by investing in the expansion of irrigation and water management systems. This investment aims to enhance productivity and mitigate the effects of extreme weather, drought, and flooding on crop yields, ensuring that farmers can cultivate their lands year-round.

Tinubu also promised to continue the ongoing infrastructural revolution by improving the road network across the country, which he believes will spur development and connect major agricultural and industrial hubs. Furthermore, he addressed the critical issue of insecurity, vowing to secure the nation by defeating criminals, kidnappers, bandits, and terrorists. He outlined plans to recruit and deploy more security personnel, enhance their equipment and training, and utilize advanced technology for improved ground and aerial surveillance in high-risk areas.

The rally was attended by notable figures, including Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, APC Vice Presidential candidate Kashim Shettima, and the Director-General of the presidential campaign and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, among others.
