Niger State Governor Consoles Senate’s Ex-President On Mother’s Death

The Niger State Governor north central Nigeria, Umaru Bago has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Senate former President, Ahmad Lawan following the death of his mother, Hajiya Halima Ibrahim.

In a condolence message, Governor Bago offered words of comfort and encouragement to Senator Lawan and his family during this challenging time.

He emphasised the inevitability of death for all human beings and urged them to accept it as an act of God.

The Governor said; “Senator Lawan can find solace in the knowledge that his late mother led a fulfilling life, having raised outstanding children, including the former third-ranking official in the country during the last administration, who currently serves as a Senator.”

Wth a heartfelt prayer, Governor Bago asked Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed soul and grant her a place in Aljannah Firdausi. He also beseeched divine strength for the family members to bear this loss.

Senator Lawan’s mother died on Saturday night, October 14, in the Gashua area of Barde Local Government, Yobe State. She was 86.

Senator Lawan served as the 14th president of the Nigerian Senate from 2019 to 2023. He represents the Yobe North Senatorial District in the Senate as a member of the All Progressives Congress.
