The Nigerian Army has announced a significant victory in the fight against terrorism, as troops from the 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto launched a meticulously planned offensive operation. Their aim was to eliminate a notorious group of terrorists known for their abhorrent and barbaric acts in the region.
Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, declared that the troops executed a fierce onslaught that resulted in the neutralization of numerous terrorists. Those who managed to escape did so with serious gunshot wounds.
During subsequent mop-up operations, the soldiers made noteworthy discoveries. Among the items recovered were three AK-47 rifles, one PKT gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, two rocket-propelled gun bombs, and nine motorcycles.
This decisive victory not only serves as a blow to the terrorists’ ranks but also sends a clear message to those who perpetrate violence and terror. The Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the nation and its citizens from any threat.
