Troops neutralise 4 suspected bandits, arrest 17 others in Plateau

Troops of (*4*) Safe (*17*) (OPSH), sustaining peace in Plateau and elements of Bauchi and Kaduna States, have killed 4 suspected bandits and arrested 17 others over varied crimes inside its areas of accountability.

Capt. James Oya, the Media Officer of the operation, disclosed this in a press release on Tuesday in Jos.

Oya stated the arrested suspects have been apprehended over kidnapping, homicide, violent assaults on communities, and illicit drug peddling, amongst others.

He defined that the suspects have been arrested throughout a particular operation performed by its troops between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.

β€œWe rescued four kidnapped victims, prevented six attempts to attack vulnerable communities and responded to 13 distress calls within the period under review,” he stated.

Oya stated its commander, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar thanked the residents of Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna states for supporting the army and different safety businesses in their bid to advertise safety inside its areas of operation.
