PDP Alleges APC Women Leader Received Electoral Materials in Imo Guber

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made allegations against the All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting a plan to infiltrate its members as ad-hoc personnel in the ongoing Imo State governorship election.

In a statement released on its official platform on Saturday, the party claimed that a prominent female leader of the APC was apprehended receiving electoral materials in Owerri, the state capital.

Emphatically, the party announced its stance of not permitting APC members to participate as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff in the election process.

The statement circulated reads, “APC Members Cannot Serve as @inecnigeria Ad-Hoc Staff. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has exposed the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s intentions to install its members as ad-hoc staff for supervising the elections in Imo State.”

“Specifically, attention is drawn to the APC Woman Leader in Owerri Ward, who was caught taking delivery of INEC materials.”

“This forms part of the strategies for electoral malpractice orchestrated by the compromised Imo Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Sylvia Agu. The residents of Imo State are familiar with such APC members and will not sanction their roles as INEC officers.”

“INEC is urged to promptly retract the appointments of the aforementioned APC members and conduct a thorough reassessment of their personnel to preempt potential turmoil.”
