INEC Investigates Report of Pre-filled Result Sheets in Kogi Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it is currently probing the issue of pre-filled result sheets in the governorship poll in Kogi State. The Commission stated this in a tweet from its official handle.

“Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State. The Commission views this situation seriously. Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s). The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly,” it wrote.

This development comes after a civil society organisation, Yiaga Africa, posted a photo on social media, alleging the existence of pre-filled result sheets.

It is noteworthy that a total of 18 candidates are participating in Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State.
