Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Imo State, Athan Achonu, has demonstrated a resounding victory at his polling unit, despite the low voter turnout during the ongoing election.
Out of the 734 registered voters in Achonu’s polling unit, only 216 were accredited to participate in the electoral process.
The polling unit of the LP candidate is situated in Umunumo hamlet within the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area.
Achonu clinched a remarkable 197 votes, while the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hope Uzodinma, secured a mere 16 votes. Additionally, three votes were deemed invalid.
