FG Shortlists 18 Directors for Promotion as Permanent Secretaries

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step in the recruitment of permanent secretaries within the federal Civil Service. In a recent development, 18 directors have been shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process after successfully completing an ICT assessment.

Initially, a total of 85 directors were shortlisted for a written assessment, but four were absent from the process. Out of the remaining participants, only 20 directors were able to pass the exam and progress to the subsequent stage, which focused on evaluating their ICT proficiency.

An official memo dated November 7, 2023, issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, revealed that 61 directors who failed to score above 50 percent in the examination were disqualified from continuing in the selection process.

Following their commendable performance in the initial stages of the exercise, the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation has extended an invitation to the oral interview stage to the 18 successful candidates. This is a crucial phase in the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.

Regrettably, directors from Bauchi and Ebonyi States were unable to meet the requirements of the ICT assessment, consequently missing out on the opportunity to advance in the selection process.
