Zamfara APC Crisis: Ex-Reps Member Assures of Resolution Soon

A former member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Barrister Sani Mohammad Takori, has expressed concern over the internal crisis within the Zamfara State chapter of the party.

Takori lamented the lingering conflict, attributing it to the party’s defeat in the 2023 general election in the state. He emphasized that the party’s supporters were deeply troubled by the ongoing internal strife, which has eroded their confidence in the party’s leadership.

In a telephone interview with the press, the former federal lawmaker underscored the urgent need for the state APC leadership to address the issue, stating, “The ongoing internal crisis, if handled with laxity, will tarnish the party’s image and undermine the leaders’ capacity to unite the APC in the state.”

Takori also revealed that efforts were underway by some party chieftains to resolve the crisis, expressing optimism in a prompt resolution.

“I am very optimistic that the lingering internal crisis rocking the party will soon be addressed to reunite the members,” he remarked. “The APC elders need to intervene and find a lasting solution to the problem, having experienced the bitterness of defeat.”

He urged the party leadership to avert unnecessary political crises and promptly address the internal turmoil within the Zamfara State APC. “I call on the leadership of the party in the State to reach out to the aggrieved members and restore peace and stability to prevent conflicts between personal interests and official engagement.”

Addressing the potential governorship rerun election, Takori highlighted the intense preparations by both the ruling and opposition parties, emphasizing that the APC stands to secure a decisive victory if it resolves its internal challenges.
