Uba Sani Clinches NITMA Governor of the Year Award

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 Digital Governor of the Year award. The ceremony, organized by the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) under the tag National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA), took place in Lagos.

The distinguished award was presented to Governor Sani in recognition of his exceptional strides in leveraging technology for governance, particularly in the spheres of agriculture, revenue collection, health, and education. The NCS revealed that Mr. Sani emerged victorious after a rigorous online voting process participated in by Nigerians.

The governor’s dedication to integrating technology in the administration of Kaduna State has earned commendation from the NCS, with the society hailing the state as a focal point for technological innovation and advancement.

Expressing his gratitude to the NCS, Governor Sani remarked that the award would serve as a driving force for him and his counterparts to proactively advance the digital landscape of Nigeria.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the governor emphasized, “This award not only acknowledges our achievements but I believe it will inspire others to follow our proactive steps in advancing Nigeria’s digital landscape.”

The annual NCS-NITMA event aims to celebrate exceptional individuals, state governments, and institutions for their remarkable contributions to the progress of information technology in Nigeria and beyond. The statement further affirmed the governor’s commitment to prioritizing the development of technological infrastructure, ensuring equal access to digital services and connectivity for all citizens in Kaduna State.
