The Akwa Ibom Police Command has confirmed the disturbing abduction of High Court Judge, Justice Joy Uwana, and her driver in the Oron Local Government Area. This tragic incident, which occurred on the Uyo-Okobo road, also resulted in the brutal killing of her police orderly.

SP Odiko Macdon, the spokesperson of the state’s police command, conveyed the harrowing news to NAN, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. He assured the public that a thorough investigation has been launched to swiftly track down the perpetrators and secure the safe release of the judge and her driver.

“The Command has received that report, a very bad dastardly act indeed. We are on it and the Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusinmi has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. We have been on it all day and we will spare no resources in ensuring that the needful is done to ensure that she reunites with her family,” Macdon stated.

Expressing deep condolences, Macdon lamented the tragic loss of the officer attached to the judge, emphasizing the atrocity of the situation. He further reassured the public, underlining that the authorities are fully committed to bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice, maintaining peace, and safeguarding the state.

With a resolute tone, Macdon issued a stern warning to criminal elements, indicating that the state will not be a haven for their nefarious activities. “We enjoin the good people of Akwa Ibom to go about their lawful businesses,” he added, emphasizing the collective responsibility in maintaining peace and security in the region.
