The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has issued a call to action for the newly-appointed chief executive officers and directors of aviation agencies. Speaking at the inauguration and induction event in Abuja, Keyamo urged the leaders to address and overcome the numerous challenges facing the industry.
Keyamo emphasized the importance of transparency, efficiency, and collaboration in ensuring effective public service delivery within the aviation sector. He stressed that concerted efforts are essential for building a safe, secure, and efficient aviation industry that meets international standards and positions Nigeria as a global hub.
Under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, the administration aims to optimize revenue generation for Nigeria’s aviation industry and ensure strict compliance with international regulations and standards. Keyamo outlined a five-point agenda designed to achieve the ministry’s mandate, vision, and mission.
This agenda includes:
1. Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and advancing Nigeria’s rating by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
2. Leveraging the sector’s vast opportunities to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and establish joint-venture partnerships with international economic organizations and transnational presidents.
Keyamo’s directives underscore a commitment to fostering growth and development within Nigeria’s aviation landscape while positioning the country as a key player in the global aviation community.
