Anambra Governor Sets Up AFCON Final Viewing Centre with Free Drinks and Entertainment

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has taken an extraordinary step in showing support for the Super Eagles in the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, final match by setting up a viewing centre in Awka, the state capital.

Named the Solution Viewing Centre, the governor’s Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime, announced that the venue will offer free drinks and popcorn for viewers. The location at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka was chosen for its spaciousness to accommodate a large audience for the highly anticipated match between Nigeria and host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, scheduled for Sunday.

In a statement, the governor emphasized the inclusive nature of football in Nigerian society, stating, “Like every Nigerian, the governor understands that football is one aspect of Nigerian life that does not know tribe, gender or class. Both the low and high express joy and happiness freely when their team flops or does well without restrictions.”

The Solution Viewing Centre will also feature a Disc Jockey (DJ) on stage and other side attractions to enhance the viewing experience. Governor Soludo has continually expressed his support for the Super Eagles and is urging them to bring home the coveted cup. The viewing centre is set to open at 7:00 pm on Sunday, inviting Anambra people to come out and cheer for the nation’s team in a spirited display of unity and national pride.
