Classera, an EdTech firm, has announced the successful completion of a $40 million Series A funding round aimed at advancing its Learning Super Platform and expanding its presence in new markets across Africa. The funding round was led by Sanabil Investments, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund, and included participation from Global Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, 500 Global, Sukna Venture, and Seedra Ventures. The company indicated that this investment would also facilitate its expansion into the Asia Pacific region and other markets.

To drive its expansion, Classera plans to focus on direct sales of its learning solutions, collaborate with channel partners, and pursue acquisitions. Mahmoud Gabry, the Strategic Partnerships Director of Classera Inc., expressed enthusiasm about the funding, stating, “As we just completed one of the largest funding rounds a company with no prior funding had done in the EdTech industry, we are determined to extend our worldwide presence, focusing on Africa to accomplish our vision.” He also highlighted a new partnership with TD Africa, aimed at enhancing the learning experiences of clients in Nigeria and Ghana through Classera’s innovative and award-winning learning solutions, particularly its state-of-the-art Learning Super Platform.

As part of its strategy in Africa, Classera is collaborating with TD Africa to leverage the latter’s extensive database and network of resellers and partners. This partnership is expected to significantly enhance the adoption of e-learning solutions among users in Nigeria and Ghana. Mrs. Chioma Chimere, the coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to be associated with Classera, particularly in light of this landmark fundraise and in view of the massive potential in boosting e-learning for a variety of key users across Nigeria and Ghana.”
