Bendel Insurance coach Monday Odigie has emerged as the clear favourite for the League Bloggers Coach of the Month Award for January in the five‑week‑old 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League. He is competing with Lobi Stars’ Mohammed Baba‑Ganaru, Rivers United’s Stanley Eguma and Remo Stars’ Daniel Ogunmodede. Based on the month’s results, Odigie leads the pack with four wins in four games, while Baba‑Ganaru, Eguma and Ogunmodede each recorded three wins in four matches.
Bendel Insurance also dominated their encounter with Remo Stars this season, securing a 3‑0 victory in Benin City. In the Player of the Month category, Bendel Insurance forward Osarenkhoe Imade, the league’s current top scorer, stands out with four goals in four games during the review period. He opened his tally on the opening day against Akwa United in Uyo and added strikes against Plateau United, Kwara United and Remo.
Other nominees for the award include Imade’s strike partner Ismael Sarki, who netted three goals in January, and Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who kept three clean sheets. Lobi Stars’ duo Joseph Atule and Kumaga Suur, as well as Onyebuchi Ifeanyi of Plateau United, also feature on the nomination list.
