Abia Governor Urges LGAs to Embrace New Agriculture Agenda

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has issued a call to action for Local Government Areas and communities in the state to embrace the new Abia agenda on agriculture in order to achieve food sufficiency. This directive was given during the inauguration of the Isuikwuato Agriculture Revolution Program (ISAREP) and the Flag off of the 2024 Isuikwuato Planting Season at the Isuikwuato LGA headquarters.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Agriculture, Cliff Agbaeze, Governor Otti emphasized his administration’s commitment to transforming the state and restoring its pride among other states. He highlighted the significant progress made across various sectors and underscored agriculture as a key focus in his transformation agenda.

Commending the leadership of the Isuikwuato Consultative Forum (ICF) for their innovative ideas that led to the program, Governor Otti expressed his full support for their efforts to boost the economy of the LGA through increased investment in agriculture. He urged other communities and LGAs to follow suit and emulate this initiative, especially in light of the current national food crisis.

Governor Otti believes that the inauguration and flag-off event will bring about a substantial transformation in agricultural practices in Isuikwuato, Abia State, and even Nigeria as a whole. He stressed the untapped potential of the people of Abia State and the need to unlock it for the state to achieve self-sufficiency in food production. With the right support and focus on agriculture, Governor Otti is confident that Abia State can not only feed itself but also contribute significantly to feeding the entire nation.

This bold vision for agricultural development in Abia State is a testament to Governor Otti’s dedication to driving progress and prosperity for the people of the state. As the Isuikwuato Agriculture Revolution Program takes root, it symbolizes a new era of growth and sustainability in the agricultural sector, paving the way for a brighter future for Abia and beyond.
