APC Clears 16 Aspirants for Ondo Governorship Election Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has given the green light to all 16 aspirants vying for their ticket to run in the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election on November 20.

Led by Sen. Joshua Lidani, the seven-man screening committee carefully assessed each aspirant’s eligibility, suitability, character, and support base. The committee’s report, submitted to the party’s Directorate of Organisation in Abuja, highlighted the thorough evaluation process.

Among those cleared to participate in the April 20 primary election are the incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former APC National Vice-Chairman (South West) Isaac Kekemeke, and former member of the House of Assembly Olusoji Ehinlanwo. The list also includes Olugbenga Edema, Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim, Mrs Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, and Akinfolarin Samuel, among others.

The report emphasized that all aspirants have pledged their support to the eventual party candidate for the November 2024 governorship election. It called on the party’s leadership to ensure that the primary election is conducted in a transparent, fair, and inclusive manner.
