Big Brother Naija Season 7 champion, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has made headlines by turning down a N13 million offer from one of the show’s sponsors, Quidax.

Phyna, who emerged victorious in the 2022 edition of the reality show, has been vocal about the incomplete prizes promised to her by the organizers and sponsors. Quidax had committed to awarding her 1 BTC as part of her winnings, but two years later, they had yet to fulfill their promise.

In response to Phyna’s public criticism, Quidax met with her and proposed a N13 million payment, claiming it was the equivalent value of 1 BTC in 2022 when the pledge was made. However, Phyna took to social media to announce her rejection of the offer, insisting on receiving the 1 BTC, which she stated is now valued at over N90 million.

Furthermore, Phyna demanded that the reality show organizers and sponsors provide her with tickets for a trip for two to the Maldives, another prize she was entitled to. She emphasized her preference for the Maldives over alternative destinations like Kenya or Morocco, stating that she could finance those trips herself if desired.

In a video message shared online, Phyna expressed her disappointment with Quidax’s valuation of 1 BTC in 2022, highlighting discrepancies between their offer and the actual market value. She pointed out that if she had received the 1 BTC as promised in 2022, she would have had approximately N96 million today, based on current cryptocurrency prices.

Phyna’s firm stance on receiving her rightful prizes has sparked a conversation about transparency and accountability in reality show competitions, resonating with fans and followers worldwide. As she continues to advocate for fair treatment, her story serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding commitments and honoring agreements in the entertainment industry.
