The people of Muchila ward in Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa have appealed to the police and Secret Security Service, SSS, to investigate the attack on the wife of the state Governor, Lami Fintiri’s convoy in the area.

Sunday Mathew, the spokesperson for the community, made the call on Tuesday at a news conference in Yola.

He said that the visit of the first lady on Feb. 4, was not political activities but an invitation by catholic women to their congress.

According to him, a group of misguided young men violently attacked the convoy destroying four vehicles including a press crew van.

“Its is on this premise that we come together to call on the Commissioner of Police and Director Department of State Security to carry out a full investigation.

“And, to ensure that the perpetrators and their sponsors are brought to book to serve as deterrence to others,” he said.

He further called on good people in the area and the victims to remain calm and be law-abiding.

When contacted, the Adamawa police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the attack, adding that investigation into the matter was ongoing and assured that the law would deal with anyone who involved in the attack
