According to a statement signed by the General Manager of the federation, Emeka Igwilo, the postponement was necessitated by the current situation of the country, as well as the upcoming general elections.

“This is to formally notify all states and regions that the proposed finals of the fourth edition of the National U-17 Cricket Championship powered by PwC earlier slated for 15th to 19th February 2023 has been postponed due to the current situation across the country and the national elections coming up.

“New date will be released as soon as the new schedule is confirmed. We apologise for any inconveniences the postponement might have caused,” the statement read.’’
