Kano Pillars Sacked: Kano State Government Terminates Interim Management Committee
In a surprise move, the Kano State government has terminated the interim management committee of Kano Pillars, a Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) side. The decision was made official by the state commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mustpaha Rabiu Kwankwaso, in a statement announcing the expiration of the committee’s tenure.
According to Kwankwaso, the management and board members of Kano Pillars have been directed to hand over the affairs of the club to the most senior civil servant attached to the club immediately. Despite this decision, Kwankwaso extended his gratitude to the board members for their service to the club, the people of Kano, and the extended football family.
It is worth noting that the sacked management team, led by Alhaji Babangida Umar Little, had previously announced the appointment of Paul Offor as the new technical adviser of Kano Pillars ahead of the new season. The 2024-25 NPFL season is set to commence in August.
This development is likely to have significant implications for Kano Pillars, as they prepare for the upcoming season. The club will now have to navigate the process of finding a new management team, while also adjusting to the changes brought about by the sacking of the interim committee.
