PDP postpones screening date for Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi governorship aspirants

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed the screening of its aspirants for Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States governorship election.

The date was moved from February 13 to March 1, according to National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

Bature, in a statement on Friday, said the party National Working Committee, NWC, approved the rescheduling.

The official confirmed the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms in Kogi State only has been extended till February 13.

The PDP explained that the adjustment in date was necessitated by the ongoing electioneering for the 2023 general elections.

All other dates for other activities related to the primary elections in the respective states remained unchanged,” Bature added.

“Governorships aspirants, state chapters, stakeholders in the respective states and the general public should please note the change of dates,” he noted.
