Labour Party in Kaduna State Affirms Support for National Chairman Julius Abure
The Labour Party in Kaduna State has reaffirmed its commitment to the leadership of its National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure. In a statement released on Friday, the party’s State Chairman, Auwal Tafoki, and other party officials warned members against engaging in anti-party activities that could cause discord within the party.
The statement alleged that some "selfish individuals and a suspended member of the party" are trying to manipulate party affairs using their influence. The party urged supporters to remain committed to its ideals and leadership ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Kaduna State.
Tafoki emphasized that the 23 Local Government Chairmen of the LP in Kaduna State are firmly behind Abure’s leadership, which they believe has the potential to advance the party’s goals and fulfill the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian people in the 2027 general elections.
The party also passed a vote of confidence in Abure’s leadership on August 29, 2024, and reiterated its commitment to staying focused on the upcoming Local Government Elections, slated for October this year. The party has submitted the names of its candidates to the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (Kad-SIECOM) and is optimistic about its chances of winning major seats in the elections.
In addition, the party called on the Executive Governor of Abia State, Governor Alex Otti, to use his office to unite the party, stating that by doing so, the Labour Party can become a force to reckon with not only in Kaduna State but across the entire nation.
The statement emphasized that the Labour Party is one family, united under an indivisible body, resolute and determined to make a mark in the state, and that Nigerian youths and the elderly believe in the party’s ideology to birth a new Nigeria.
The Labour Party’s commitment to Abure’s leadership and its focus on the upcoming Local Government Elections demonstrate its determination to remain a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian politics.
