Pharrell Williams Postpones Something in the Water Festival to 2025, Vows to Make it ‘Epic’
In a surprise announcement on Friday, September 13, Pharrell Williams revealed that he has canceled the 2024 edition of his annual Something in the Water Festival and is instead planning to bring it back in 2025. The decision comes after the fashion mogul took to Twitter to explain the reason behind the postponement.
According to Pharrell, the festival is not about him, but rather a celebration of his home state, Virginia. He emphasized that the event deserves to be “the best” and that it’s not yet ready. “Virginia doesn’t deserve better, Virginia deserves THE BEST,” he typed. “So SOMETHING IN THE WATER has to match that. It just isn’t ready yet.”
Pharrell also expressed his gratitude to the event’s sponsors and the city for their continued support and trust in his team. He vowed to make the 2025 festival “epic” and thanked fans for their understanding. The event was initially set to take place in October, but fans who purchased festival passes will now receive a full refund. They will also have first dibs on tickets for the 2025 event once they go on sale.
Something in the Water first took place in 2019 and has since become a popular music festival, featuring a diverse range of artists. The 2023 edition of the festival took place between April 28-30 and included performances by Ayra Starr, Babyface Ray, The Clipse, FLO, and BADBADNOTGOOD, among others.
Pharrell’s statement comes just six hours after the event’s exclusive tier of ticket sales was released to Virginia residents. Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the festival, and Pharrell’s promise to make it “epic” has only added to the excitement.
The 2025 edition of Something in the Water Festival is set to take place in April, and fans can expect an unforgettable experience. With Pharrell’s commitment to making it the best it can be, the event is sure to be a highlight of the music festival calendar.
