Osimhen’s unstoppable, admits Sassuolo boss

Ahead of their match-day 23 Serie A encounter against Napoli, Sassuolo manager Alessio Dionisi is full of praises for Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, describing the forward as an unstoppable force who makes all the difference for the Italian Serie A leaders.

Luciano Spalletti’s side will hope to extend their lead when they face Sassuolo at the Stadio Mapei – Citta del Tricolore on Friday.

The Watermelon Peel, as they are fondly called, currently sit 15 on the log and Dionisi’s side, in their bid to avoid relegation, will have to start picking up points. But they must first deal with the daunting task of facing in-form Osimhen and his teammates.

The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form this season and has scored an astonishing 17 goals in 18 league games.

Speaking ahead of the game, the 42-year-old Italian manager speaks highly of the Nigerian.

“In Serie A, he’s a player who makes the difference,” Dionisi told Dazn as per Tutto Napoli.

“If you defend low in the area he’s almost unstoppable, for us he’s unstoppable. If you defend high, he attacks spaces, maybe he can grow in the straits.”

Osimhen’s impressive form earned him the league’s best player of the month for January, while he was named the winner of the Serie A Goal of The month Award for his stunning Pele-like goal against Roma in the same month under review.

The former Lille forward on Sunday once again scored against Cremonese and became just the second player, after Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, to have scored in six consecutive games for Napoli.
