Ahead of their match‑day 23 Serie A encounter with Napoli, Sassuolo manager Alessio Dionisi lavished praise on Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, calling the forward an unstoppable force who makes all the difference for the league leaders. Luciano Spalletti’s side will look to extend their lead when they face Sassuolo at the Stadio Mapei – Città del Tricolore on Friday.

The “Watermelon Peel,” as they are affectionately known, currently sit 15th on the table, while Dionisi’s team, fighting to avoid relegation, must start picking up points. Their first challenge is the daunting task of confronting an in‑form Osimhen and his Napoli teammates.

The 24‑year‑old striker has been scintillating this season, netting an astonishing 17 goals in 18 league games. Speaking before the match, the 42‑year‑old Italian manager praised the Nigerian: “In Serie A, he’s a player who makes the difference,” Dionisi told DAZN, as reported by Tutto Napoli. “If you defend low in the area he’s almost unstoppable; for us he’s unstoppable. If you defend high, he attacks spaces and can still find room.”

Osimhen’s impressive form earned him the league’s Best Player of the Month for January, and he also won the Serie A Goal of the Month award for his stunning Pele‑like strike against Roma that same month. On Sunday, the former Lille forward scored again against Cremonese, becoming only the second player—after Argentine Gonzalo Higuaín—to score in six consecutive games for Napoli.
