Former Manchester United man, Rio Ferdinand has hailed Amad Diallo for his remarkable performance in their 2-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Manchester United came from behind to beat their city rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the Premier League derby at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring in the 36th minute of the game for the Cityzens, and Pep Guardiola’s side were widely expected to complete the match with a win.

However, late Matheus Nunes sent a very poor back-pass to his goalkeeper Ederson, which was stolen by Diallo.

Nunes tackled the Ivorian in the penalty box, leading to Bruno Fernandes’ 88th minute equalizer for Manchester United.

In the 90th minute Dialo again met a long ball from Lisandro Martinez with City goalkeeper Ederson coming out of his post to stop the winger, the Ivorian got there first, lifting it over the keeper before putting the ball into the net.

Amad was easily the best player on the pitch, and Ferdinand took to social media platform, X to hail him.

The former England defender wrote, “Written off by many inside and out the club. Too lightweight. No power. Can’t run. Too young. Big price. And more. But [Amad Diallo] is delivering, the desire plus quality is thriving.”
