Kola Ologbodiyan, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed concerns that the involvement of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in the governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) poses a significant threat to the PDP’s stability. Ologbodiyan claims that there are deliberate attempts to diminish the PDP’s status, reducing it to merely a branch or an arm of the APC.

This statement comes in the context of the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP. Ologbodiyan made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday. He emphasized that, as a member of the PDP, he fully supports the official position articulated by Debo Ologunagba, the party’s substantive National Publicity Secretary.

Ologbodiyan stated, “I cannot detach myself from whatever has come out in respect of the issues that he has forthrightly said that legitimately and constitutionally, Sunday Ude Okoye is the person recognized by the party. Until he says otherwise, I think that is constitutional.” He further elaborated on the external pressures faced by the PDP, reiterating his long-held belief that there are ongoing efforts to undermine the party’s integrity.

He added, “I have also gone further to say that the involvement of the former presidential aspirant on the platform of the party, the current Minister of FCT, and former Governor of Rivers, in the governance of the All Progressives Congress has created a situation that could lead to the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party. That’s a fact.”
