Chelsea recalled two players from loan on Tuesday amid the ongoing January transfer window. In separate statements, the club announced that goalkeeper Ted Curd has been brought back from his loan spell at National League South side Hampton and Richmond.
The 18-year-old shot-stopper made 22 league appearances during his time with the Beavers, where he kept nine clean sheets. Last season, Curd also spent time on loan with Hashtag United and has appeared twice on the substitutes’ bench for the senior Chelsea team.
In addition, Chelsea confirmed the recall of another goalkeeper, Luke Campbell, from his loan at Hendon. The 19-year-old joined the Isthmian League Premier Division side last August and quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
During his time at Silver Jubilee Park, Campbell made 31 appearances across league and cup competitions. Notably, he played a key role in helping Chelsea’s Under-18s win the Premier League South title last season.
