Naira extends appreciation against dollar

The Naira extended its appreciation against the dollar at the foreign exchange market on Thursday.

FMDQ data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1548.59 against the dollar on Thursday from the N1,552.58 exchange on Wednesday.

This showed that the Naira recorded a N3.99 gain against the dollar compared to N1,552.58 traded the previous day.

Similarly, the Naira also firmed up at the black market on Thursday.

This comes as the Naira closed at N1650 per dollar on Thursday from the N1660 exchange rate on Wednesday.

Media Talk Africa reports that this is the second consecutive day the Naira has appreciated in the foreign market.

Olayemi Cardoso, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, on Thursday said that the country’s economy is expected to grow by 4.17 percent in 2025.
