2026 WCQ: South Africa legend lauds Osimhen after netting brace vs Rwanda

Former South Africa striker, Shaun Bartlett heaped praises on Victor Osimhen after the Galatasaray hitman inspired Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali on Friday.

Osimhen scored both goals for Nigeria in the encounter played at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.

The 26-year-old gave Nigeria the lead in the 11th minute, slotting home Ademola Lookman’s cross.

The 26-year-old doubled the advantage in first half stoppage time.

Osimhen stole the ball from Thierry Manzi and went on a run before placing the ball beyond the on-rushing Fabrice Ntwari.

“It’s about scoring goals, it’s about being in the right position, using his physicality,” Bartlett a member of South Africa’s 1996 Africa Cup of Nations winner said on SuperSport.

“He can do it left, right, we’ve seen him that’s what it’s all about.”
