Ex-Chelsea midfielder, Loftus-Cheek undergoes emergency surgery

Former Chelsea midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, has to undergo emergency surgery before AC Milan’s clash with Napoli, due to acute appendicitis.

According to Sky Italia, Loftus-Cheek had to be rushed to hospital before the game.

Milan went on to lose the Serie A fixture 2-1 on Sunday.

Loftus-Cheek has struggled for playing time this season, making only 14 league appearances due to injury issues.

He missed 12 games with muscular injuries, before making his return last week against Como.

The 29-year-old now faces another month out.

Loftus-Cheek joined Milan in 2023 and has a contract until 2027.

In total, he has played 62 times for Milan, scoring 10 goals and laying on three assists.
