Deputy Ministers of Economy from Taiwan and Lithuania signed a memorandum of cooperation in laser technology, under which the two countries will jointly establish a research and development centre for experimental and innovative work in Taiwan, the Taiwan Ministry of Economy announced on Tuesday.
The memorandum was signed on Monday by Taiwan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Chern‑Chyi C.C. Chen, and Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation, Karolis Žemaitis, according to the ministry’s statement. Taiwan’s Minister of Economy, Mei‑Hua Wang, said the agreement will create meaningful opportunities for the advanced‑technology industry in both nations.
During the Lithuanian government’s visit, accompanied by business representatives, two additional memoranda were signed. The Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) will sign these agreements with two local industrial and commercial associations, aiming to promote bilateral exchange and industry cooperation.
