Canada: One died following truck collision in Vancouver

A person died after a commercial vehicle collided with a flat-deck truck on a busy highway in Richmond, BC Highway Patrol said.

Police officers arrived at the scene on Highway 99 southbound between Blundell Road and Steveston Highway at 8:47 a.m.

According to reports, all lanes have since reopened but are advising motorists to expect delays as congestion clears.

The BC Highway Patrol South Coast members, Richmond RCMP, and BC Emergency Health Services were on site.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services, Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement, and the BC Coroner’s Service are also helping them in the probe.
