Jigawa PDP Crisis: Faction Heads to Court Over LG, State Election Irregularities

PDP leadership has failed - Fabiyi slams party over failure to punish Wike

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa State has taken legal action to challenge the recent local government and state congress elections conducted by the party.
Chairman of the Committee on Justice and Privileges, Abba Anas Adamu, disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Dutse, the state capital.

According to Adamu, the faction is seeking justice and a fair hearing from the court, alleging that the elections were conducted in violation of the party’s guidelines and constitution.

He claimed the local government elections were held in private residences, while the state congress was reduced to mere appointments, rather than through a democratic process.

Adamu further accused the PDP leadership in the state of being controlled by a single individual, thereby denying other party members equal rights and participation.

He warned that if the party’s leadership fails to ensure fairness and inclusivity, it could lead to deeper internal crises.
