In a show of solidarity and spiritual support, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s Ulama Team has organized a special prayer for President Bola Tinubu and the country’s leaders. The prayer, aimed at seeking Allah’s assistance in tackling insecurity and transforming Nigeria, was led by Sheikh Afini Yusuf AbduIbari, chairman of the Council of Imams and AIfas in Etiosa, Lagos State.
According to Sheikh AbduIbari, the purpose of the prayer was to seek divine intervention for the nation and its leaders, particularly the President, who has been working tirelessly since assuming office. “The President has hit the ground running since he assumed the office, and he has not shown any sign of tiredness today. So, we need to continue to pray for him,” Sheikh AbduIbari emphasized. The ulamas also prayed for Allah’s help in combating insecurity in the nation, seeking blessings for the President’s team and all political officers.
The team of ulamas, chosen from the South-West region by NAHCON, comprised representatives from Lagos, Osun, and Oyo states. Sheikh AbduIbari commended the NAHCON’s airlift operation, highlighting the significant progress made in pilgrims’ reception, accommodation, and feeding in Madina. With almost 40,000 pilgrims already accounted for, the operation has been deemed smooth and well-coordinated.
The ulamas have been actively engaging with pilgrims, enlightening them on the fundamentals and purpose of the pilgrimage. Sheikh AbduIbari explained that the pilgrims have been sensitized about the significance of their journey, being fortunate to have been called upon by Allah to perform the pilgrimage. The team has also ensured that pilgrims visit all the important holy places, including the Prophet Mosque, where the special prayer was held.
Sheikh Ridwan Mustapha Sunusi echoed the sentiments, stating that the ulama’s prayer was aimed at complementing the government’s efforts to transform the country. He urged pilgrims to adhere to the laws and regulations of Saudi Arabia, as well as those of Islam and the Nigerian government. With the NAHCON’s Ulama Team leading the way, the special prayer serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of spiritual guidance and support in navigating the challenges facing Nigeria.
